Plant a Tree

Event Details

What better way to care for the Earth than to replenish it?  Billions of trees are cut down every year to create the things that we use every day. Why not give one back? Thanks to the Severna Park Middle School Environmental Club, students and staff from this group give all SP Earth Day Festival visitors Maryland native tree saplings.  Thanks to their efforts each year, more than 500 trees have been planted in our area.  Keep their efforts going and plant a tree with your family! Activities and lessons to get the family involved, learn, have fun and of course, plant the tree correctly!  https://www.plt.org/activities-for-families/in-your-own-backyard/ Why is this so important?  Keep in mind some of these facts – Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.  https://onetreeplanted.org/pages/why-trees The impact is on your home too:  the shade and wind buffering provided by trees reduces annual heating and cooling costs. Worldwide that impact is $2.1 billon.
