Sustainable Saturday #2: Invasives Clean up with GNG & Magothy River Association (MRA)

Please join Good Neighbors Group and the Magothy River Association in removing invasive plants from various spots at Beachwood Park in Pasadena. If you're not familiar with this county treasure, you're not alone...one of a few public access points to the Magothy. Here's a 2015 video from MRA.

Because the vegetation is dense, including vines and stickers, we are opening this event to ages 10 & up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by adults. This activity qualifies for service hours.

The group will use appropriate COVID protocols, including wearing masks, maintaining social distance, and we will make sure hand sanitizer is available. There is a 25 person limitation for this event.

What to wear: Volunteers should wear long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes and socks. This time of year tucking pants legs into socks is a good tick preventative, as well as insect repellent.

What to bring: gloves, strong hand pruners, long handled loppers, shovels and rakes. Please make sure all tools are labeled! Please bring your reusable water bottles.
