(Virtual) Severna Park Earth Day Festival

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and its related closures and distancing guidelines, we are forced to cancel the on-site Earth Day Festival, which was scheduled for April 25. However, we welcome you to be part of our first VIRTUAL EARTH DAY FESTIVAL!

The theme for this year’s Festival, established a year ago, has greater meaning now more than ever:  20/20 A Vision for a Healthier World.

We can’t be together for the actual Festival, but we are still connected to the Earth, and caring for ourselves and each other to benefit our community!  Enjoy and thank you!  Happy Earth Day – every day – and we certainly extend the greatest hopes for a healthier world!

Some History

The Severna Park Earth Day Festival is in its 18th year! Each year, more than 30 organizations and vendors, including all Severna Park public schools, join together to create this wonderful event that aims to educate and engage the community in a fun and meaningful way.  Booths feature interactive activities for children of all ages, as well as materials and information for home owners striving to increase their understanding and make eco-friendly improvements in their homes. Exhibitors include environmental organizations and service providers, animals welfare organizations, recycling and composting exhibitors, and alternative energy specialists.  Going green has never been easier or more enjoyable! The Festival also focuses on the well-being of the Earth’s inhabitants with physical and mental wellness offerings. Come explore our eco-marketplace with handmade, up-cycled, recycled and fair trade offerings from clothing jewelry and plants, to home and gift items.

From its beginnings at St. Martin’s in the Field, to its move to Severna Park Middle School 2011-2016, the Severna Park Earth Day Festival continues to grow and is now held at Severna Park High School.  Sponsored by Good Neighbors Group and with senior Project Mangers from the Severna Park High School Leadership Program, the Festival is an enjoyable and important community tradition.  Be a part of it!

This Year’s Theme: 20/20 Vision for a Healthier World: Reduce, Reuse, Refresh

Improving our environment is about much more than recycling.  It is about reducing what we have, consuming less and engaging more.  Local activities like the Severna Park Earth Day Festival are a perfect way for the community to join together and improve our environment and ourselves!  How will you apply the “R’s” to your life? Join us at the Earth Day Festival – and who knows what you will learn and be inspired to do to create a positive change for you, your family, your home, our community!

Go Green, Severna Park!
