Used mattresses, even in top condition, are not accepted by most organizations. Baltimore Furniture Bank is an exception. If you can’t transport your items to their warehouse, try posting an honest ad to your neighborhood, on Freecycle, Trash Nothing, Nextdoor, Facebook Marketplace, your local Buy Nothing Project,  or Craigslist mentioning the age and amount of wear. In Anne Arundel County, there is no alternative to landfill for unusable mattresses and box springs. Here is a Baltimore recycling option we found.
